Stefan M. Gergely, Franz Essl, Alice Vadrot, Erika M. Wagner and Heidi Wittmer have edited a new book in German: Die Werte der Natur. Recht, Gerechtigkeit und der Preis der Zerstörung (Springer Spektrum). The volume is based on a symposium at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in March 2026. It brings together experts from philosophy, law, political science, economics, and biodiversity and climate research to explore what nature is worth. Topics range from the rights of nature and the economic valuation of ecosystem services to biodiversity loss and global justice.
